Visit a Cenote in Coba
If you are intrepid enough to climb the highest pyramid of the Riviera Maya, the reward will be one of the most impressive panoramic views of the area. More than 40 meters high, Nohoch Mul, which in Mayan means “big mound,” is the highest pyramid in the Yucatán peninsula.
Coba translates into Spanish as “water stirred by the wind.” Between the years 400 and 1100 of our era, this was one of the largest cities of the period Classic Maya period, reaching about 50 thousand inhabitants. One of the main reasons why it was settled here were two small lakes that supplied the population with water.
